Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union Kicks Off
70th Anniversary Celebration with Market Day Fundraiser

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii- On Thursday, December
7, Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) kicks off a 70th Anniversary
Celebration with its annual Market Day sale, chock full of homegrown
and homemade crafts and produce, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
Established on October 16, 1936, HCFCU has grown
from 10 coffee farmers in a tiny Kealakekua office into five branches with
a membership of more
than 33,000.
HCFCU members and the public can join the celebration
and enjoy birthday cake at the HCFCU branches. Members are encouraged to
bring in old photos,
mementos and stories for the credit union's on-line "Celebrating Memories" web
page.
The popular Market Day offers a holiday shopping
opportunity featuring crafts as well as fresh produce, plants and baked
goods. Proceeds from
Market Day will benefit HCFCU's designated charity - The Friends of
the Children's
Justice Center of West Hawaii. HCFCU's Kailua-Kona, Kaloko and Kealakekua
branches will hold their Market Day and Anniversary Celebration Kickoff
Thursday, December 7, - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Kailua-Kona and Kealakekua
and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Kaloko. The Kohala branch of HCFCU will hold
its Market Day and Anniversary Celebration Kickoff Friday, December
8, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
HCFCU's Anniversary Celebration will continue throughout
the coming year with gift giveaways, contests, and special activities that
recognize
the founding members of the HCFCU.
HCFCU has been serving its members for 69 years.
It is a $292 million asset not-for-profit credit union, wholly owned by
its 33,000 members
with branches in Kailua-Kona, Kaloko, Kealakekua, Kohala and Pa`auhau.
